Connecticut history

The first people to settle in Connecticut were the Mohegan, Pequot, and Niantic tribes. People first settled in Connecticut more than 10,000 years ago. The first European settlers came in 1630. Connecticut was a part of the original 13 Colonies. Connecticut became a state on January 9, 1788. Connecticut is the 5th state to become a state.
